Privacy
Privacy notice.
This notice explains what personal data Greymark Research collects when you use this site or contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
Greymark Research Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16729585, with a registered office at Popeshead Court Offices, Peter Lane, York, England, YO1 8SU. For anything to do with your data, or to exercise the rights set out below, write to info@greymarkresearch.com.
What we collect
This is a static website with no accounts, no sign-up, and no contact forms, so the only personal data we hold about you is what you choose to send us. When you email us, we receive your email address, any name you give, and the contents of your message.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address, browser and device information, and the pages you request, for the security and operation of the site. We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party tracking or analytics. [Confirm before launch: this holds only for as long as no analytics or tracking are added to the site.]
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use what you email us to read and answer your enquiry, and to keep a record of correspondence where we need one. Our lawful basis under the UK GDPR is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and, where relevant, taking steps at your request. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for marketing. We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our email, and they process data only on our instructions. Our website hosting is provided by Netlify, and our email by Namecheap Private Email. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to deal with your query and to meet any legal or record-keeping obligations, then we delete it, and in any case no later than 24 months for general enquiries. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and, where it applies, to receive it in a portable form. To exercise any of these, email info@greymarkresearch.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would welcome the chance to put things right first.
